Title / "But, there's nothing on it?"
Date / 11th July 2019
Process / "But there's nothing on it?" was a public performance which took place across 2 hours in various locations in and around Manchester City Center. The performance involved dressing as a salesman and distributing leaflets that were printed with computer generated images of the sky. The same imagery was also printed onto a wearable sandwich-board, and responses from the public were documented. The title - "But, there's nothing on it?" - is taken from one of these responses.
Exhibited / Allure of Sorts ~ Tape Modern & Scaffold Gallery, Manchester
Selected Public Responses /
"But, there's nothing on it?"
"What's it for?"
"I'd have preferred an actual photograph of the sky."
"What type of clouds are they?"
"Is it supposed to be like paradise?"
"Are you giving away free hugs as well?"
"How much is it?"
"Can I have more than one?"
"We don't have enough blue sky in Manchester."
"Oh I see, it's like blue sky thinking."
